At Bay Homes, we have building "in our blood". Our owner is a third generation builder in Northern Virginia. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Carter Morrow is owner and Manager of Bayside Building Company LC/Bay Homes. He started the business after an 18 year career working for many builders and developers in the area. His goal was to meet the needs of homebuyers and lot owners that were looking for something different from the mass market strategies of most builders. The company's goals are to build better, smarter, and more cost effectively than the competition.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree, Mr. Morrow began his career in the building industry as a framing carpenter and moved steadily through the ranks of Site Superintendent, Project Manager, Production Manager, Estimator, Director of Purchasing, Vice President of Construction and V.P. of Operations at companies listed below:
Throughout his career he has been a part of building over 8,000 homes in over 20 communities in the Washington, D.C. area. He has managed divisions with up to 30 employees with production up to 400 homes a year. While working for other builders, he developed key contacts with the best subcontractors and suppliers and learned skills in land planning, site development, and product design and construction. After many years working at other firms, he was struck by the lack of a good builder in the area for the growing market segment of clients who wanted an alternative to the cookie cutter product and processes without a "custom home" price tag.
In 2001 Mr. Morrow started Bay Homes and has completed numerous projects with a 100% customer referral rate.
The company is financially successful and is continuing
to grow. The business plan is to keep overhead and
project costs low with small volume in order to provide
exceptional and personal services at affordable prices.
His lifetime goal of starting a building company comes from a long line of builders in the family. His grandfather built homes in and around Annandale, Virginia in the 1950's and 1960's. His father owned a successful general contracting company from the 1970's to 1990's. He has built and remodeled several personal residences and family vacation properties.
Mr. Morrow is also an involved father and family man raising three children and actively participating in the community:
